Eyes to the Skies over Godshill – Round the Island Air Race

From about midday today and from about 10:30am tomorrow there will be about 20 planes roaring low over Godshill as they set off from Sandown airport on an anticlockwise loop over the south of the island.

Competitors will take flight from Sandown Airport before flying over Apse Heath and Godshill.

They will then follow the coastline around to St Catherine’s Point, Ventnor, Luccombe, Shanklin and across Sandown Bay, before returning to base.

The most spectacular part is when they finish because they all finish together racing along the Sandown runway at low level. Visitors to the airport are most welcome.
