Report from our IW Councillor – Rodney Downer

[responsivevoice voice=”UK English Male” buttontext=”Listen to this”]

Dear Residents,

I am pleased to say that the Mountbatten Hospice clothing bin has been moved parallel with the hedge in the car park, this will make room for a disabled parking bay.

The sign advertising Isle of Wight tourist attractions has come off its frame and I am trying to find out who it belongs to and get it put back in place.

A resident has reported it is very muddy at the bottom of Central Mead crossing over into the Old Smithy car park. I have spoken to Rights of Way to be looked at. The tree roots going at the entrance to Central Mead have also been dealt with.

A meeting was held between the Chairman and Vice Chairman of both Wroxall and Godshill Parish Councils. This was to discuss ways to work together regarding dog fouling. Wroxall have supplied Godshill with signs and these will be dotted around the village.

I have had residents concerned with cold calling and scam telephone calls and so on speaking with Trading Standards have a supply of information on how to stay safe on the phone and also internet. There is also a leaflet about a call blocker approved nationwide by Trading Standards. Just give me a call if you would like a leaflet or no cold calling stickers.

Please do not hesitate to call me on 854203 or email helenandrodney@hotmail.com

Kind regards

Rodney Downer[/responsivevoice]
