This morning, Isle of Wight Radio reported that there is a planning application for an 18m high wind turbine at Knightsbridge Farms just west of the Whitwell Road.
The application has been made by farm owners who say the proposed wind turbine is required to help reduce the need and cost of energy required from the national grid for the day to day running of the farm business.
The applicant said:
“Whilst it is self-evident that the erection of a wind turbine on the site must have some effect on its surroundings it is contended the character of the area will remain unchanged, and the impact of the turbine’s appearance will be limited.”
