There are many walks around Godshill and most use the FREE car park in the centre of Godshill as a starting point. Here are some you might try. The first group start and finish in the centre of Godshill. The second group are end to end.

Walking with the Worsleys
A 6 mile walk that takes you up into the hills to the south of Godshill. You should allow yourselves 3 or 4 hours. (Visit Isle of Wight Ltd.)

Godshill to Appuldurcombe
A 4.5 mile walk that starts gently through Tottle Bottom valley before long inclines around Stenbury Down and then down to Appuldurcombe’s palladian mansion. From there it is a gentle track back into Godshill. You should allow yourselves 2 or 3 hours. (the AA – who have now removed the online version of this walk)
Lin’s Stroll around the Village

This walk around the village is probably barely a mile and sticks to the roads, so no muddy shoes. If you go clockwise from the car park you will have a level walk approaching the church and a nice slope or steps downwards after taking you into the centre of the village.

A walk of about 5 miles taking you through some of the most fertile plains on the island, without too much climbing. You should allow yourselves 2 or 3 hours. (Viewranger)

Using the public footpath (GL57) behind the Griffin Inn this 4 mile walk takes in the picturesque Tottle Bottom valley (twice), ancient beech woods, hills, many steps, and spectacular views. Allow 2 to 3 hours. (Viewranger)

Unfortunately, the Owl & Falconry centre closed at the end of 2017, but this is still a lovely walk, more easterly than others that take in Appuldurcombe. A walk of about 4.5 miles taking you over mainly open tracks through woods and open countryside with some hills. You should allow yourselves 2 or 3 hours (plus more is you stop to see the birds and explore the ruin. (iowramblers.com)

A walk of some 6 miles involves small roads, open tracks through woods and open countryside and has some hills. Whilst on the Worsley Trail you’ll see a signpost to the Worsley Obelisk. Well worth climbing over the wall and up the steep slope – amazing viewpoint. You should allow yourselves 4 hours. (Viewranger)
End-to-end Walks
These walks pass through or pass near to Godshill. You will need to either use the island’s excellent bus services or arrange a lift to get back to your starting point.
Stenbury Trail

A 10 mile walk that starts just south of Newport following the bridleways southwards and ends at the Botanic Gardens in Ventnor. From there it is a 1 mile walk into Ventnor where you can pick up the number 3 bus to take you back to Shide, Newport. You should allow yourselves 3 or 4 hours for the walk. Yar River Trail

Yar River Trail
Follow the Yar River Trail from its source near Niton to Bembridge Harbour. The walk takes you through the beautiful Isle of Wight countryside and passes through the pretty villages of Godshill, Newchurch and Brading. The trail passes ancient manor houses at Morton and Great Budbridge, and also includes six trail side sculptures by local artist Paul Mason. This is a 19 mile walk but it is nice, flat easy waterside walking with plenty to see on the trail. (GPS Cycle and Walking Routes)
