With the arrival of three new parish councillors, keen to involve residents and push forward on their needs and concerns, there has never been a better time in recent years for you to have your say and give the council a clear direction as to what you want and need to happen in Godshill. Your voice needs to be heard and your presence needs to be seen at the meeting on Monday!
The parish council is there TO SERVE ITS RESIDENTS! They must ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE input from residents on what the community needs and then budget for that activity. Active encouragement has been sorely lacking in recent years and we expect our three new councillors to change that.
TELL THEM WHAT THEY NEED TO DO!
Your next opportunity comes up in a few days time on MONDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER at 7:30pm in the Methodist Hall, High Street.
There are a number of very significant issues on the agenda and the parish council should be guided by you as to what should happen next.
Probably the main issues on the agenda are:
A presentation by Captiva Housing on their proposed extensive development
on fields adjacent to Yarborough Close
Impact of Storm Damage
Island Planning Strategy
Central Mead – Community Centre and Play Park
Public Conveniences
Parish Plan – the next 5 years
Speeding and Road Safety
Noticeboard – Communication
A number of residents have already said that they will be attending in order to put their concerns to the parish council. These residents need your physical backing. Be there to support them.
