Curtain falls over Godshill businesses

The curtain falls over Godshill with the declaration today from Daisy Daisy that they are also closing their doors for the foreseeable future in support of preventing the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

There remains only the Post Office and Brownrigg’s Farm Shop as the two establishments providing an essential service and permitted to stay open by the government.

The Taverners, The Griffin and Tansy’s Pantry managed, for a few weeks, to provide takeaway food with the latter also providing delivery. They have all had to put their businesses on hold until the lifting of restrictions which could be some months hence.

All Saints has been open for private prayer during the day but they have now had to close.

Godshill Primary has completed its first week with all but the children of key workers confined to their homes. However, they have used their website to provide pupils with tasks and activities in order to keep their education ticking over. Mrs Smith has even started adding videos of book readings to FaceBook for her class.
